Taken at Malibu Raceways, in Beaverton Oregon, just days before it's closure.. Back when I started driving there, in the 80's, Malibu Grand Prix had a "winners circle" program. You had to get a 52.99 second or better time around the track, and if you did, and it was witnessed by a manager, you were awarded "Winner's Circle" status. You got a different drivers licence, and you got to drive the 'special' car. This car had a two-strike motor, and was chassis tuned better. The Winners Circle car could, in the right hands get times under 50 seconds. Lap record, as I recall, is somewhere in the 48 second range. Back then, after a few years of practice, I got into the Winners Circle. My best time in the "faster" car, was, as I recall, 50.2 seconds around the track. Since that time, I got older...

Malibu Grand Prix cars ($15,000 each) at the Anaheim, California location. Locations throughout the USA in mid 1970s to early/mid 1990s. Fun drive, acceleration on the slow side on this 28 h.p. motor version, however would not be for a novice driver. Car displayed great handling and braking characteristics. Video shot in the Fall of 1980. A glimpse back in history. Interest to the vintage kart racer. Believe to be Virage chassis, powered by Fichtel & Sachs wankel motor. Also, available with a Kawasaki Vertical Twin 2 Cycle Piston Port.

After 35 years of operation, Malibu Grand Prix in Redwood City closes down after losing their lease. I've created many memories here with my pops, cousins, friends, and even loooovveeedd ones. Now it's just that... memories. Here's a look back at one last ride before the closing week with the homies Nick, Edwin, and Liane. http://www.malibugrandprix.com/site/Redwood/ Dope beats created by friend and homie: Joshua MUSIC: JBO Audioe http://jboaudioe.com http://youtube.com/jboaudioe DIRECTED/CAMERA/EDITED: Casey Chow #FlashProducts SUBSCRIBE: http://youtube.com/FlashproductVlogs MAIN CHANNEL: http://youtube.com/FlashProducts http://facebook.com/FlashProducts THANKS FOR WATCHING! .
This is a direct copy of the laserdisc footage I archived several years ago, for Atari's unreleased Malibu Grand Prix arcade game. . The race course footage was done at the Malibu Grand Prix driving center in Redwood City, CA. Some of the people who appear in the video are Paul Mancuso and John Ray. Do you recognize any others? And what is the significance of the telephone keypad "the future" sequence (3795*) in the beginning?
